Hungarian State Folk Ensemble - Hungarian Heritage House

Dance Concert

The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble’s new dance concert reaches for inspiration to another Hungarian composer after Bartók’s and Kodály’s works; this time the performance is based on Franz Liszt’sworks. The setting is a concert hall, which could be anywhere in the world, as Liszt was a great traveller of the world, but it could also be “here and now”. During theperformance, apart from Liszt’s most emblematic pieces, the best pieces of Hungarian national romanticism, church music going back to Gregorian, as well as compositions by Liszt’s contemporary artists, Paganini and Chopin will be played and danced to, as these served as inspirations for Liszt’s own music.
