Antigone

Bálint Sebestyén

Dance Drama in One Act

According to the choreographer's concept, the piece isbased on Antigone, Sophocles' timeless drama. The story depicts the connection between siblings, which, in love, lasts until death, or, in the case of existing conflict, may actually lead there. What may overwrite justice between the two brothers -- or, in effect, between two humans? What is truth? Who decides who is right and who is wrong? Is it God? Or man? Heart? Or reason? In light of this, the dance is set in this day and age, in a power-hungry dictatorship, where the connection between siblings is powerless against a blind ideology.
